I focus mainly on roles up to £50k; Data Analysts, CRM specialists, Insight professionals - and what I’m seeing in the North-West right now is exciting. There’s a real buzz around data, and Manchester is quickly becoming one of the best places in the UK to build a career in this space.

Big Moves Are Happening

One of the biggest shifts we’re seeing is the new Government Digital and AI campus coming to Manchester. The site has officially been approved and will eventually bring around 7,000 civil service jobs to the city – many of them focused on digital transformation, data, and AI. It’s a huge vote of confidence in Manchester’s tech talent and infrastructure, and it’s already generating more demand from employers.

What That Means for Hiring

With so many new projects and investments landing in the region, more businesses are realising how critical good data people are. It’s no longer just about having someone run reports – employers want people who can use data to make smarter decisions, improve systems, and drive growth.

I’m seeing growing demand for candidates who understand CRM strategy, can work with tools like Power BI or Tableau, or can turn complex insight into something a wider team can use. Those skills are becoming really valuable, especially in fast-paced or scaling businesses.
