Being a successful working mum at SF Recruitment

My name is Catherine and I am a part-time Senior Recruitment Consultant (Commercial Division) at SF Recruitment Leicester.

I have been at SF for over two years now after previously working for another named recruiter for a number of years. Whilst the salary and uncapped bonus schemes were a huge part of my decision to join SF, more importantly the key deciding factor was the opportunity to work in a truly flexible environment. As a working mum of two boys aged 3 and 5, having flexibility is really important to me. 

Unfortunately while it’s not the norm across other businesses, SF has proven that it works and I am proud to be one of many incredibly successful working mums within the company.

My life at SF is super busy and no two days are ever the same. Having the ability to mould my work life around my personal life has been key to my success at SF.

Recruitment across all sectors is tough right now but by working with such a great team I feel supported to get through those more difficult days. There is a great balance of support, fun and flexibility which makes my work and home life compliment each other well. I feel very fortunate to work alongside a manager and director who has given me complete autonomy and trust to work around my family needs. 

When I interviewed with Rebecca Parnell, Regional Director of the Leicester office, I could see that SF are forward thinking and are always looking to improve, not just for growth but because they care about their employees and that has become ever more apparent to me over the last 12/18 months.

Pre-covid, we had some amazing days/nights out which included hover crafting, champagne clubs and glamorous Christmas parties. Even throughout the last year, the virtual events were great fun and the perfect way to keep in touch with each other outside of work.

These are just a few key reasons why I love working at SF. I can be fiercely successful at my job and still be mum too.
