SF Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturer of specialist equipment, who are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Indirect Buyer to manage all non-production (indirect) spend for their manufacturing site in north Denbighshire. This role plays a key part in ensuring value for money, supplier performance, and compliance with company procurement standards across all indirect categories, such as MRO, FM, Capex, consumables.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business to identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline supplier relationships, and support continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
- Manage all indirect procurement categories for the site, including (but not limited to) facilities management, maintenance, utilities, logistics, IT, professional services, office supplies, and site consumables.
- In conjunction with the head of procurement, deliver & implement sourcing strategies that deliver cost efficiency, quality, and reliability.
- Support on supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management for indirect goods and services.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage ongoing relationships to ensure service level compliance and continuous improvement.
- Partner with site leadership and functional teams to understand requirements, forecast spend, and support budgeting processes.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for consolidation and process improvement.
- Ensure all procurement activity aligns with company policy, ethical sourcing standards, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data, contracts, and supplier information in the company ERP or procurement systems.
- Support sustainability and corporate responsibility objectives through supplier engagement and responsible sourcing.

Skillset Requirements:

Essential:
- Proven experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Excellent commercial acumen and cost analysis capability.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Strong communication, organisation, and project management skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and MRP

Desirable
- CIPS qualification or working towards it.
- Experience in implementing procurement processes or category management strategies.
- Understanding of sustainability and responsible sourcing practices.
