Senior Buyer

A highly innovative global engineering organisation  is seeking a Senior Buyer to play a key role in strengthening and optimising its global supply base.

You will take ownership of strategic sourcing and supplier management across direct materials ensuring the supply chain is commercially competitive, resilient and capable of supporting continued growth.

The Role
- Lead strategic negotiations with key direct material suppliers
- Develop and execute category and supply chain strategies
- Manage and optimise relationships with sub-contract manufacturers
- Drive cost optimisation, supply chain resilience and capacity planning
- Oversee subcontract and supplier performance, ensuring delivery and quality expectations are met
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations and finance teams to support production and programme delivery
- Ensure inventory levels and supply continuity are effectively managed

About You
- Proven experience within strategic procurement or supply chain management in an electronics or technology-led environment
- Strong experience negotiating supplier and subcontract agreements
- Understanding of electronics component sourcing and manufacturing supply chains
- Commercially astute with strong analytical capability and advanced Excel skills
- Professional qualification such as CIPS / MCIPS or equivalent experience desirable
- Highly organised with a detail-driven, solutions-focused approach
