SF Recruitment are working with a true market leader within their industry to recruit a qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role will be responsible for delivering the month-end and year-end timetable, including preparation for the year-end audit, ensuring that all balance sheet reconciliations, statutory tax, and financial reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to internal control frameworks and corporate deadlines, while also providing line management and support to the Management Accountants. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge, proven experience in month-end and year-end processes, and the ability to lead and develop a small team within a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Provide effective line management to the Management Accountants, supporting their work, performance, and professional development.
- Oversee the month-end process for the management accounting team, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve controls, accuracy, and process efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Finance Business Partnering teams, ensuring their requirements are met and a high standard of service is delivered.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations as required, ensuring reconciling items are clearly understood, promptly actioned, and effectively resolved.
- Lead the year-end statutory audit process by coordinating with departments across the group, providing required evidence to external auditors, and ensuring all deadlines are achieved.
- Support the Management Accountant team in completing statutory tax and ONS submissions, ensuring all reporting is accurate and compliant.
- Collaborate closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager to deliver projects that strengthen control processes and enhance business reporting and insight.
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical accounting queries from Finance Business Partnering teams and other areas of the business.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Accountant qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) is required.
- Team leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
- You must be able to demonstrate a high level of written and numerical literacy.
- Well-developed relationship management skills, including credibility & influencing skills, are required.
