QHSE Manager
Burton-on-Trent
£44,000 - £46,000 | Mon-Fri | Flexible start/finish times

SF is working exclusively with a well-established UK manufacturing business to recruit a Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for their site in Burton-on-Trent. This is a key hire for the business and an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing organisation where quality genuinely matters. The business are focused on continuing to raise standards and embedding quality across the whole operation.

The Role
This is a hands-on, visible role with a strong shop-floor presence, balanced with responsibility for systems, audits and compliance. You'll lead the Quality function while overseeing Health, Safety and Environmental compliance, supported by an experienced H&S Officer.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading day-to-day quality, health & safety activities across the site
  • Maintaining and developing systems to ISO9001, ISO14001, BRC and FSC standards
  • Being fully involved in - and leading - customer and external audits
  • Regular shop-floor engagement, process checks and quality inspections
  • Managing customer complaints, identifying root causes, and driving corrective actions
  • Ensuring compliance with current H&S and environmental legislation
  • Supporting quality at customer and end-user production facilities where required
  • Championing a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility, not just a function

About You
My client is looking for someone who enjoys being part of the operation! You'll be confident engaging with production teams, comfortable challenging where needed, and capable of bringing people with you on the quality journey. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Quality-focused role within manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of BRC, ISO9001 and ISO14001
  • Experience leading or supporting external audits
  • A practical, hands-on approach with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment

What's On Offer

  • Salary circa £44,000 - £46,000 with flexibility for the right experience
  • Discretionary bonus scheme
  • Flexible working hours
  • 26 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Pension contribution
  • Life assurance

Are you a hands-on Quality professional who enjoys being visible on the shop floor as much as leading audits and systems? Do you want a role where you can add real value, influence culture, and help shape the next stage of a growing business? If you're looking for a position where quality isn't just a function but a shared mindset, and where your experience with BRC and ISO standards will be genuinely valued, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
