Outline of the role and the ideal skills of the candidate:
The opportunity has arisen to join our fitting team.
You will work within the fitting team specialising in building the variety machines we offer to our customers whilst ensuring you are in close communication with the Production and Operations Managers working to production timeframes and deadlines.
You will be a naturally organised person with excellent verbal and written communication skills, with at least 5 years' experience with large machine manufacturing. Ideally you will have experience with a range of tools such as lathes, press brakes, gantry cranes and preferably have a forklift licence but experience with cars, Truck or heavy machinery is suitable for the role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with colleagues within the fitting team to build our machines keeping to design plans and time targets.
- Effective communication within the fitting team, Production team, Operations team, and where necessary other departments within the business.
- Work constructively with other Team members in a positive and supportive way to ensure smooth and efficient running of business operations
- Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities and any other business/organisational development activities within the Fitting Bay area and other areas that may affect the operation of the Fitting Section.
- Work with Engineering staff to act as a constructive focal point for the development of products and processes including Supplier discussions as/if required.
- Provide additional support and to work flexibly when and where necessary to ensure the effective and efficient running of all business operations.
