Financial Controller | Strategic & Hands-On

An established and growing company in the manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and continuously improve its finance function. This is a high-impact role, ideal for a commercially aware finance professional who thrives on translating numbers into strategic business value - not just producing reports.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all core finance activities including budgeting, forecasting, statutory accounts, and monthly management reporting
- Drive efficiencies across processes and systems within the accounts department
- Translate financial data into meaningful insights for operational teams
- Improve interdepartmental collaboration between finance and operations
- Oversee customer/supplier relationships and internal control measures
- Maintain compliance with HMRC regulations, GDPR, and other statutory frameworks
- Guide and mentor junior team members while building a culture of continuous improvement

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a finance leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Deep understanding of the full accounting cycle, business controls, and process optimisation
- Strong management reporting, cash flow forecasting, and strategic planning skills
- A proactive mindset - someone who improves systems, not just maintains them
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
- A high level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail

Desirable Qualifications
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or qualified by experience with a robust track record)
- Strong Excel and systems skills, and a process-driven approach
- Experience managing acquisitions, funding, or cross-border transactions is a plus
