Data & BI Analyst – Financial Services
3-6 Months Contract Outside IR35

Location: Leicester
Employment Type: Full time Monday - Friday (2 days in the office per week)
Salary: £300-400 per day, depending on experience


Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated & experienced Data & BI Analyst to support our client's current Data & BI Analyst in managing a data-driven transformation project. This role is crucial in helping redesign and streamline the reporting and automation processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support & Collaboration: Assist our current Data BI Analyst by taking on additional data-related tasks, helping to manage the workload effectively.
  • BI Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards that provide actionable insights for various stakeholders.
  • Excel Data Sheets Optimization: Redesign and streamline large Excel data sheets to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Data Modelling: Develop and implement data models that support the organisation’s reporting and automation needs.
  • System Integration & Testing: Work closely with systems accountants to integrate tools and systems (e.g., Xplan, Dynamics, Time@Work, MWeb), ensuring accurate data flow.
  • Data Management: Write and optimise stored procedures, manage SQL Server databases, and ensure data integrity across platforms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced Coding Skills: Expertise in T-SQL coding, with a proven track record of building robust data solutions.
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong experience with SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Excel Mastery: Expert-level skills in Excel, particularly in handling and streamlining large datasets.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles to effectively support financial data management and reporting.

Desired Skills:

  • Visual Studio or Azure DevOps: Proficiency in using these tools to enhance development and deployment processes.
  • Power BI: Understanding of Power BI for creating dynamic visualizations and reports.
  • Financial Modeling: Experience in creating financial models to support business decision-making.

Professional Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in coding with T-SQL and managing SQL Server environments.
  • Strong track record in developing and maintaining BI dashboards and Excel-based data solutions.
  • Prior experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
