Inspiring Women Interview with Pamela Windle

Inspiring Women Interview Series – SF Recruitment Spotlights Pamela Windle of Smarter Change
In celebration of International Menopause Day 2023, SF Recruitment proudly presents the latest instalment of its Inspiring Women interview series. Pamela Windle is the founder of Smarter Change through which she conducts her work as a women’s health specialist focusing on the perimenopause and menopause journey.
Pamela's passion for women’s well-being began during her time in the fitness industry. Later, in her late 30s, she pursued higher education, studying psychology and sports science, and eventually becoming an alcohol practitioner for the NHS.
In 2012, Pamela faced a significant setback when she was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which went undiagnosed for a year, forcing her out of work. Frustration with the lack of support motivated her to explore alternative paths to healing. Through extensive research, she discovered functional nutrition, which not only helped her manage her own illness but also empowered her to educate and support other women.
Addressing Workplace Challenges During Menopause
As we mark International Menopause Day, it’s crucial to recognise the challenges faced by women in the workplace. According to CIPD, over 60% of working women aged 45 to 55 experience menopausal symptoms affecting their work. Pamela sheds light on the typical challenges women face during perimenopause and menopause, emphasising the importance of supportive work environments.
"I’ve been working with organisations who are forward thinking and really want to support the women in the workplace - so they retain talent, help those women keep the positions that they’re in, and feel valued in the workplace” - Pamela Windle.
Inspiration and Future Goals
In this interview, Pamela openly shares her experiences, including the lows and the highs. She discusses her journey into becoming a women’s health specialist, the challenges faced, and the inspiring women who’ve influenced her. Pamela shares advice around 'The Dirty Dozen ™’ and the ‘Clean 15 ™’ food lists that help us to avoid endocrine disruption. Pamela also shares how her determination led her to establish Smarter Change, a platform where she supports women through education and empowerment.
Looking ahead, Pamela envisions a future where her business continues to thrive. Her plans include expanding her reach, providing more comprehensive support to women and forward-thinking businesses, and normalising discussion about women’s health issues.
Closing Thoughts
Pamela Windle leaves viewers with a powerful message: It’s important that we continue to talk openly about menopause, that the conversations happen all year round – not just on international menopause day, that it becomes a topic we can talk about naturally just like fertility and pregnancy.
