SF Recruitment have partnered with an organisation in Edgbaston who are recruiting for a Risk and Compliance Officer on a contract (possibly to permanent) basis.

Working pattern: 35 hours per week, hybrid working
Salary: £27k

Responsibilities will include:

Insurance

- Efficiently and effectively manage the insurance claims process, from notification through to ensuring a fair settlement (claims include travel, personal accident, property damage and vehicles)
- Ensure all client instructions and requirements are handled promptly and accurately, and progress with chasing claims as necessary including compiling supporting data for claims including liaising with loss adjusters
- Ensure payment for valid claims is made to the correct account
- Process and respond to queries or information requests
- Assist in the preparation of the annual insurance renewal process
- Work with our solicitors when they request property deed packs or ask to update packs
- Liaise with our third-party property advisor regarding the Charitable Foundation property portfolio
- Manage deed packs via our online system, keeping them up to date with any necessary changes
- Keep a good system in place for the Charitable Foundation property portfolio deed packs that are on site

Risk & Policies

- Work with the Risk and Policy Manager to ensure that a comprehensive risk assurance framework is applied to all strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks.
- Work with school-based staff to ensure any remedial action is undertaken promptly in response to risk and policy issues.
- To work with policy owners to draft, monitor and review policies for timely submission for Board approval.
- To maintain easily accessible and auditable records.
- To support the DPO, DPL and Head of Governance in resolving data protection related queries
- To work to conduct policy, control, and data audits, also working to centrally document incidents
- To support the approach to risk management
- To contribute to relevant committees and working groups.
- To work flexibly and support occasional evening and weekend events, the annual Entrance Test and to participate fully in academy life
- Play a full part in the life of the academies' communities and support the Academy Trust ethos
