Payroll Manager

SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager, for a on going temporary opportunity based in central Birmingham.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our clients team. As a vital member of their organisation, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of payroll administrators covering all aspects of payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including but not limited to processing payroll, reviewing timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring timely payments to employees
• Stay abreast payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other organisational systems and processes
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and provide excellent customer service
• Prepare payroll reports and analyse payroll data to support decision-making processes
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payroll transactions
• Participate in payroll audits and assist with the resolution of any discrepancies
• Stay informed about developments and best practices in payroll administration

Experience / Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a not-for-profit or similar setting
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Certified Payroll Professional (CIPP) preferred
