Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking to take on a broad and varied role within a growing finance team? 

SF Recruitment are working with a well-established business based in the West Midlands that is seeking a confident and proactive Management Accountant. This is a hands-on position offering exposure across month-end reporting, cost allocation, and financial control — ideal for someone looking to build on their experience in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts to trial balance

  • Posting accruals, prepayments, journals, and general ledger entries

  • Managing cost allocations across departments and analysing variances

  • Completing VAT reconciliations and ensuring compliance

  • Supporting year-end audit preparation and fixed asset register maintenance

  • Contributing to process improvements and finance systems development

  • Providing support to the Finance Manager and covering responsibilities as required

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience (QBE)

  • 3–5 years' experience in a finance or accounting role

  • Strong understanding of VAT, prepayments, accruals, and month-end processes

  • Confident Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables); SAP experience is advantageous

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
