The Data & Analytics Solutions Analyst is a pivotal role within the IT department, responsible for transforming business requirements into robust and scalable data solutions. Reporting to the Data & Analytics Manager, this role focuses on designing, implementing, and overseeing data and analytics solutions that align with the organisation's strategic goals. The successful analyst will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that external vendors deliver high-quality results.

 

What's involved?

  1. Turning Ideas into Action:

    • Collaborate with the Data & Analytics Manager to understand business requirements and convert them into clear, actionable technical specifications.
    • Develop and execute plans for implementing data solutions that meet these specifications.
  2. Bringing Solutions to Life:

    • Manage the implementation of data solutions, including ETL processes, data pipelines, and data models.
    • Ensure that data solutions are efficiently executed and meet all requirements.
  3. Vendor Partnering:

    • Serve as the primary technical liaison with external vendors, ensuring they deliver solutions that meet the defined technical specifications and quality standards.
    • Monitor vendor performance, address any issues, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
  4. Business Intelligence & Reporting:

    • Develop and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI.
    • Create data visualisations that provide actionable insights and support informed decision-making.
    • Ensure accuracy and reliability of BI outputs.
  5. Process Improvement & Risk Management:

    • Identify opportunities for improving data processes, focusing on efficiency and data quality.
    • Proactively manage risks related to data solutions and implement strategies to mitigate them.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
  6. Compliance & Documentation:

    • Ensure data solutions comply with internal governance and security standards.
    • Maintain and update documentation for data processes and solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Experience with data engineering tasks, including ETL processes and data pipeline management.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, SQL, and PowerShell. SQL is a must!
    • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Execution Focus:

    • Ability to implement and manage data solutions based on predefined designs and specifications.
    • Experience translating business requirements into practical data solutions.
  • Vendor Management:

    • Experience working with external vendors, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Collaborative mindset, with a talent for working effectively in cross-functional teams.
    • Keen attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
