Job Description: Operations and Compliance Officer
Location: Northampton - NN4
Contract: Permanent - Office based
Salary: £35,000 per annum


SF Recruitment's professional services team is seeking an Operations and Compliance Officer for a full-time, office-based role in Northampton. Our client requires an individual with proven operations and compliance experience to ensure the company's policies and procedures are consistently met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

FSC Standards Compliance:

  • Monitor supplier certification and stock labelling.
  • Conduct internal audits.
  • Ensure policies and processing are up to date.
  • BRC Storage and Distribution Certification:

Carry out internal audits.

  • Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Conduct target monitoring meetings and ensure targets are met.
  • Manage monthly managerial meetings, including writing up meeting notes and communication.
  • Log and investigate complaints.
  • Ensure supplier certifications are current.
  • Manage the monthly staff communication newsletter.

Quality Control:

  • Perform quality checks on incoming goods.
  • Ensure specification sheets are up to date.
  • Raise and resolve issues with suppliers.

Audits and Testing:

  • Manage, coordinate, and arrange factory audits and product testing with third-party labs and auditing bodies.
  • Address and implement any non-conformances.

ISO9001 Standards Compliance:

  • Conduct internal audits.
  • Ensure business management processes and procedures are in place and up to date.

New Item Setup:

  • Work with buyers to set up new items.
  • Liaise with the graphics department to ensure labelling and artwork comply with UK and EU legislation, including WEE regulations and recycling regulations.

EPR Management:

  • Prepare 6-monthly reports on waste packaging for all purchased and sold products.
  • Respond to EPR, waste packaging, and recyclability information requests from UK and European customers.

Operational Meetings:

  • Attend all operational meetings, including Health and Safety.

EPREL Management:

  • Create energy efficiency labels.

Legislation Monitoring:

  • Stay up to date with UK and European legislation.
  • Ensure the company is prepared to react to changes ahead of time.
