SF Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturer & distributor to recruit for a Buyer. A fantastic opportunity to work for a true market leader wihtin its field. This is a fast paced role whereby you will work with a global supplier base to ensure procurement of goods to the business , whilst working closely with the procurement manager to further the business' strategic purchasing objectives:

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring on time delivery of all incoming goods to the business
- Managing variable demand working closely with the sales function to ensure availability
- Managing lead time
- Maintaining and developing relationships with suppliers
- Generation of department KPIs, monitoring trends and maintaining the levels required to support the business needs
- Responsible for all inbound freight whilst ensuring competitive and reliable schedules are secured
- Supporting the Purchasing Manager to ensure strategic product category targets are delivered
- Following market trends relating to the businesses strategic commodities
- Maintaining the contracts log whilst working with key stakeholders to understand the requirement and secure favourable terms for the business


Skillset Requirements:
- A minimum of 5+ years working in a purchasing role
- CIPS qualified or working towards achieving
- Experience using MRP systems is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Experience of dealing with suppliers globally
- Experience of dealing with freight forwarders
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficient in Excel with strong mathematical skills
