Production Supervisor

SF Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Supervisor for their client based in Swadlincote. This is a permanent, full-time work working Monday-Friday 8-4.30. This is an on site based role with a salary paying up to £35,000 (depending upon experience).

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a family owned business facilitating their transition into a sustainable and efficient operation. This is an important role in championing a sustainable operations aligning with the company's growth plan. The successful candidate should come from a Manufacturing/Operations background with a motivation to improve the sustainability of the company. The client is looking for a candidate who can have an outside the box approach to problem solving either as part of a team or individually.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager the role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
● Supervise and manage the entire plastic waste processing cycle, including sorting, shredding, and washing.
● Maintain strict control over the coordination and detailed documentation of materials entering and leaving the site.
● Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement and actively promote the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques to enhance efficiency.
● Oversee the granulation of specified polymers (PP, PE), ensuring rigorous adherence to industry standards.
● Manage the inventory of essential consumables and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to guarantee the workforce has the necessary tools for effective operation.
● Lead and cultivate a highly skilled and safety-conscious operations team.
● Ensure strict adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards to maintain product quality and safety.
● Assure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
● Oversee and develop comprehensive health and safety protocols within our operational facilities to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
● Monitor expenses closely, identify areas for cost reduction and optimisation, and manage the budget efficiently.
● Establish, monitor, and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
● Regularly provide comprehensive performance metrics reports to the Operations Manager, offering actionable insights for improvement.
● Maintain open lines of communication with the Operations Manager to ensure alignment with operational performance goals.
