Proposals Engineer/Technical Administrator

Reporting directly to Internal Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the management of existing business enquiries, developing new business enquiries and the necessary customer services associated with sales order processing activities.

Job description:

- Working within the sales team you will have responsibility for the planning, and interaction with both existing and new customer accounts throughout the world although most customer accounts are within the UK.
- Produce and submit budget and formal quotations by methods of creating bills of material, labour requirements, plant hire and logistic costs.
- Produce and submit budget and technical quotations for customers in support of the sales team.
- Utilize and developing the company's internal database to enhance the estimating procedure.
- Promote the utilisation of the systems offered by the company in order to enhance the customer gain leading to additional benefit for all parties concerned.
- Planning and execution of quote processing within given timeframes
- Reading and understanding and interaction of 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings and interpreting specifications to determine customer requirements.
- Daily interaction with companies IMS, CRM & ERP system.
- Communicate frequently with customers and suppliers.
- Negotiate and secure business.
- Liaison with the company's marketing activities to ensure the efforts are maximized within the operational territories.
- Liaison with the operations team and customers in processing active sales orders.
- Assist with after sales and service queries, investigate customers CAR's and ensure that they are dealt with to the customers satisfaction.
- Undertake market research, customer interaction and review of company's sales activities to establish and re-establish business opportunities.
- Where required visit customer sites to assist in both sales and technical fact finding activities.
- Any other duties within reason and capability associated with the sales and operational efforts of the business as and when requested to carry out additional tasks by your line manager and company directors.

Person profile:

- The ability to be technically and commercially compliant.
- Experience creating BOM, Labour requirements, Hire & Logistic costs.
- Experience creating and developing pricing models.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to maintain existing and build new relationships.
- The ability to initiate customer contact and generate technical enquiries with a commitment to follow through to execution.

The role would suit someone who has the following characteristics.

Hours of work:

A minimum of 40 hours per week will be worked Monday to Friday (Inclusive of breaks) in line with 9-5 office hours. However, due to the operational requirements of our customer base then as and when the need arises to work in excess of these hours or days in order to carry out the tasks associated with your job description, then we expect you undertake the necessary commitment.

Rate of pay:

Basic rate of pay is: 30,000.00 per annum (gross)

Holiday entitlement:

20 days plus any statutory days in any one holiday year running from April to March. In addition, you will be entitled to a further 1 day's holiday per year of employment up to a maximum of 28 days plus any statuary days.
