SF Recruitment are working with a superb business in Milton Keynes who are looking for a commercially minded, technically capable management accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will have a considerable interaction with the operations and commercial teams.
The main purpose of the role will be to provide support and business partnering to the operations teams.

Duties of the Management Accountant:
- Management Pack - assist in compiling Monthly Management Account Pack, providing reliable context and insight for strategic decision making.
- Project Costing - Understanding and owning the profit recognition processes. Ensure that all costs, benefits & cash flows are robustly calculated. Develop and refine a costing model to standardise the way that similar projects are costed & priced.
- Project Cost management- Estimating, budgeting and controlling costs & cash flows throughout the project life cycle, with the objective of keeping expenditures within the approved budget. Production of Cost to Complete reports where appropriate. Ensuring that purchase orders are raised timely and correctly.
- Variance Analysis - Regular reviews of the performance of the project actual spend versus budget to highlight issues early and suggest corrective action. Analyse variances in margins both within a project and between different projects.
- Cost Reduction & Efficiency - Approaching cost reduction as an ongoing process by benchmarking performance across the business and identifying areas for savings.
- Day-to-day project expenditures, maintain financial documents, and resolve any financial issues in coordination with the Project Manager, Central Finance, and relevant stakeholders.
- Successfully managing capital budgets across projects detailing total Capex spend. Develop detailed Capex plans for each project and tracked actuals against the budget to ensure initiatives stayed within the approved limits. Maintain and own the FAR, including calculation of monthly depreciation.
- Providing effective business partnering with Projects and Operations Managers.

Person Specification:
- Qualifications - Ideally qualified ACCA/ACA/ACMA
- The Hiring Manager is also open to applications from suitably knowledgeable Qualified by Experience candidates, preferably actively studying.
- Exposure to working in a Project Led or Manufacturing business would an advantage but not essential.
- The ideal candidate is likely to be in a Management Accounting or Finance Business Partnering role currently.
