Our client is looking for a dynamic and people focused Credit Control Team Leader to join the team in Birmingham City centre, lead & motivate a team of 4-5 Credit Controllers, overseeing a diverse ledger and managing the credit application & limit process.

They are an American owned service based company operating here in the UK and across Europe.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidates to get exposure within a fast paced Shared Service Centre, working within a high performing Team, reporting into a Head of Credit who wants to develop and support the successful candidate.

Your new role:

  • You'll be accountable for managing and leading a small team of Credit Controllers, ensuring the effective administration of all customer invoices
  • You will play a key part of the Order to cash team within the Shared Service Centre, looking for process and system improvements to maximise the cashflow across the business.
  • Support your team, ensuring customers are paying on time in accordance with payment terms, reducing aged debt, DSO and bad debt provision
  • Training and development across the team and on an individual basis
  • Ensure strong relationships both with customers but also internally with stakeholders across finance, operations and sales, so that queries and escalations can be resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support the team in resolving unallocated cash
  • Get involved in AR/O2C process improvements across the business, including a new order management system and an automated cash allocation system
  • Constant review of customer credit limits with the business to reduce overall exposure and risk


What you'll need

  • 5+ years experience in Accounts Receivable, ideally within a complex shared service centre environment
  • Ability to demonstrate strong business partnering skills
  • Able to demonstrate strong operational control and process knowledge
  • Strong people development skills
  • Ability to network and keep up to date with best practise, legal changes and software within the Credit management sector.
