Are you looking for hands on Team Lead position within Credit Management, that offers hybrid working and excellent benefits?

If so this could be the role for you, working in a small friendly finance function with a business with it's Head Offices based in Stratford-upon-Avon, you will oversee a Credit team of 3 reporting directly to the Director of Finance. You will lead the Credit function for the business, ensuring proactive management of all outstanding payments, resolving queries in an accurate and efficient manner, keeping bad debt levels to a minimum and mitigating potential risk. Making sure all management information is reported in a timely manner.

Your new role

  • Distributing customer invoices in line with business unit and customer requirements accurately, timely and efficiently
  • Liaising with customers to attain purchase orders and submission of invoices onto customer payment portals
  • Ensure customer receipts and refunds are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts identifying outstanding transactions for accounts in dispute
  • Prioritise and chase outstanding customer balances via phone and e-mail using escalation options when needed
  • Timely updating of customer communications on various systems to ensure effective account management and visibility
  • Manage the debt recovery process and make improvements where necessary ensuring statements and chase letters are issued in accordance with agreed milestones
  • Completion of sales ledger routines to ensure clean sales ledger
  • Support recruiting, training and continual development of members of the credit control team
  • Facilitate frequent query clinics with the team to discuss outstanding debt and queries to promote knowledge sharing and ensure effective resolution
  • Ensure status of outstanding transactions are documented to provide visibility and resilience
  • Update weekly cash collection reports to track progress against targets and comparable periods
  • Provide periodic summaries of status of outstanding debt ensuring operational queries are highlighted and resolved
  • Perform customer credit checks for new accounts and provide insight into future possible bad debt
  • Update monthly aged debtor reports to support assessment of bad debt provisions

What you'll need

  • Strong B2B Credit Control experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in leading/supervising a small team
  • CICM qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Experience and understanding of legal debt recovery procedures
  • Good system & reporting experience
