3rd Line Support Engineer
Location: Nottingham (Accessible via public transport)
Salary: 35k to 40k (Depending on Experience)
Hours: 37.5 (Shifts of 8:30am till 5:00pm, 9:00am till 5:30pm and 9:30am till 6:00pm)
SF Recruitment are recruiting for a 3rd Line Desk Engineer for our Nottingham based client. This is a full-time permanent role.
The purpose of this role is to provide technical support for a wide range of customers. This is a critical role ensuring a smooth operation and efficient services are delivered to customers. You will be required to collaborate with IT teams and resolve complex technical issues. Ideal candidates will have a strong background using Windows, M365 administration and be able to handle diverse IT challenges.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Offer expert-level technical support and resolution for complex issues related to Windows platforms, M365 applications, and IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate with 2nd Line IT Technicians to address escalated technical challenges and provide guidance in troubleshooting and resolution.
• Plan, design, and implement advanced IT solutions and system enhancements, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Lead IT projects involving system upgrades, and technology implementations, overseeing their successful completion.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior IT team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
• Perform in-depth analysis of system and network performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
• Develop and enforce IT security policies and practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Evaluate and implement advanced device management strategies using Microsoft Intune, ensuring a seamless and secure end-user experience.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to improve IT operations.
Skills And Qualities:
• Extensive experience in a 3rd Line Engineer role or similar capacity, demonstrating advanced technical expertise.
• Profound knowledge of Windows operating systems, both server and client editions, and intricate understanding of Microsoft 365 applications.
• Strong background in designing, implementing, and supporting complex IT infrastructure components such as servers, networking equipment, and Active Directory.
• Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting intricate technical challenges involving Windows, M365, and infrastructure.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Intune for device management, security, and compliance.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft licensing.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to devise innovative solutions to intricate technical problems.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, enabling effective collaboration and mentorship within the IT team.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert would be a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and experience in aligning IT practices with ITIL guidelines.
