Indirect Buyer – Manufacturing – North Warwickshire

SF Recruitment are working with a leading global manufacturing business in the Coleshill area to recruit an Indirect Buyer. Responsible for leading on all indirect spend requirements for the plant, as well as working at a group level to support on wider group procurement projects. An exciting opportunity to further grow & develop your indirect procurement career within a global market leader.

Key Responsibilities:

• Is the owner of the plant supply base: is accountable for the local supply base and evaluate it through a vendor rating process once a year.

• Is responsible for the risk management with the support of the Finance department (financial health of suppliers, penetration rate, …)

• Benchmark spend data and identify opportunities of improvement.

• Contributes to the plant’s synergies, developing the conditions with the other buyers to leverage the volumes and optimize the costs

• Manages the supply base relationships according to  purchasing policy. Solve the issues with the suppliers

• Leads the negotiation with suppliers: Ensures a fair competition between suppliers.

• Prepares the sourcing recommendations and present them in sourcing.

• Manages the plant contracts and implement, for the plant, the global contracts managed by the lead buyer.

• Defines the purchasing strategies for the scope of commodities, identifying the market opportunities and key drivers

• Defines the supply base for the commodities. Manage the relationships with the players

• Drives the RFQ and propose the sourcing choices to the various plant representatives and Purchasing management

• Delivers and commit on the savings for the scope of work

• Negotiates contracts reaching business objectives in terms of costs, quality, delivery, flexibility.

Skillset requirements:

  • Demonstrable within an indirect/services procurement role
  • Able to manage strategic procurement activities  (Supplier selection , contract negotiation , benchmarking etc )
  • Good knowledge of MRP systems
  • Able to influence stakeholders at both local & group level, comfortable within a complex stakeholder environment.
