Job Advertisement: Operational Buyer - 12m Fixed Term Contract 

SF Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing company within its indsutry based in Tamwoth to recuit an operational buyer. We are looking for someone is able to start on short notice following interview, those who have notice periods longer than 1 week need not apply. 

Role will be a 12m ftc but a with a strong chance of permanent employment.

Job Description: As an Operational Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our supply chain management by ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services necessary for our manufacturing processes. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain optimal inventory levels, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure the best possible terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source, negotiate, and procure materials and services to meet production requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliability and quality.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
• Analyze market trends and assess risks to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand material needs and specifications.
• Resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.
• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies.

Qualifications:

• Prior expreince within a purchasing or material planning role 
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
