SF Recruitment joins new APPG to champion better Flexible Working in the UK

APPG Intro slide 2

A new All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) has been launched at the House of Commons on 6th February 2024. The APPG will focus on championing flexible working policies that support families across the country. MPs leading the group are Tulip Siddiq, Labour MP for Hampstead and Kilburn and Shadow Minister (Treasury), and the Rt Hon Dame Maria Miller, Conservative MP for Basingstoke.

SF Recruitment was selected as the sole representative for the recruitment sector due to its own success and advocation for flexible working. Since SF launched its own Flexible Working policy, it has reported a significant surge in productivity and profitability. SF Recruitment's CEO, Saira Demmer, comments that the initiative has not only doubled productivity but also tripled profitability, while keeping the employee churn rate below 20%. Saira Demmer highlights the company's track record in attracting seasoned professionals within the sector, emphasising the universal demand for flexible working arrangements.

Despite the evident benefits and competitive edge it brings, Saira Demmer acknowledges the complexities involved in implementing such policies effectively. SF Recruitment prides itself on fostering a highly autonomous work environment - a key factor in its success - and is keen on promoting these benefits to both employers and employees alike.

Saira Demmer comments: "We know that jobs that offer flexibility achieve 90% more applications that those without it and that they attract more diverse talent pools, who in turn deliver better results".

SF Recruitment remains committed to customising its services to meet the unique needs of its clients and candidates, ensuring that flexible working is seen as not just a concept, but a strategic commercial advantage.

SF Recruitment has been Working Families members for 3 years now and is committed to continuing its work with Working Families to raise awareness of the benefits of family-friendly workplaces to help more employers create a better work-life balance for their employees. SF's involvement in the APPG on Flexible Working is further testament to this.

The inaugural meeting of the APPG is anticipated to take place in March at The Houses of Parliament, which will mark the beginning of a combined effort to drive legislative changes that promote flexibility in the workplace.  Other leading organisations joining this APPG include: Save the Children, Zurich, TLT LLP and Wates.
